Canine Christmas Stocking

Don't forget to put your canine's stocking up

You will need 1/4 yard tan or beige velour (or heavy fabric that won't ravell)
Scrap of lightweight print fabric for lining,
Matching thread,
1 1/8 yards contrasting satin ribbon
And dog treats for Trim

on a piece of newpaper draw a pattern of a Dog Bone
Cut pattern open fold and pin to velour, Cut two sections with fabric wrong sides together.
Use upper portion of pattern to cut two sections from print fabric for lining.

Pin linings to tops of velour sections, wrong sides together.
Pin carefull, stay-stitch tops to linings very close to edge.
Re-stitch using rather wide zigzag. Stitch line of zigzag, to show shaping of top of bone.
Repeat for other section.

Place the two sections with wrong sides together, pin carefully. Stitch close to edge as before, stitching from poing A around bottom of bone shape to point B. Stitch a second time using zigzag as before and adding similar curved line to notch at bottom of bone.

Cut hanging loop of velour 4 inches long x 1/2 inch wide, place onlining fabric. Zigzag around all edges, trim close to stitching. Fold in half, pin in place between front and back sections, just above point B, stitch to secure.

Cut three 13 inch lengths of ribbon, Tack in place at center to front of stocking, spacing evenly. Tie dog treats in place. Trim ribbon as desired.

You should have a large Bone Shaped Stocking with 3 Dog Treats Tied down the Front in the Center.

Very Cute. In White....Or any color that matches your decor.
