Cheddar Cheese 50 Cent Pieces

This recipe is over 50 years old
1/2 cup butter
2 cups Hickory Farms Cheddar Cheese, Shredded
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon red pepper or 6 to 8 drops Tabasco sauce
3/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
Cream butter and shredded Cheddar Cheese.
Add rest of ingredients and mix well
Shape into long rolls the width of a 50 cent piece.
Wrap in Wax paper and chill in the refrigerator
When ready to use, slice thin
Place on cookie sheet
Bake in a preheated 375F oven for 10 to 15 minutes
Brown slightly
Dough will keep for several weeks in the refrigerator
