Master Recipe
2 cups sugar
1 cup water
1/4 cup corn syrup
1/8 tsp salt
2 eggs whites
1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts
1 tsp vanilla

Heat sugar, water, corn syrup, and salt, stirring constantly until sugar has dissolved. Continue to cook without stirring until syrup when dropped in cold water forms a hard ball (250F)
Beat egg whites. Pour syrup slowly into them and continue to beat until candy is stiff enough to hold its shape.
Add nuts and vanilla
Drop by spoonful onto waxed paper, or turn into buttered pan and cut in 1 inch squares when firm
Pack in a tin box
Keep covered because it dries out quickly
