Golden Cake Bread

From Pillsbury

No kneading, shaping of dough

Bake 350F for 25 to 30 minutes

Makes 2 loaves

Soften

1 pkt Red Star Active Dry Yeast (or 1 cake Red Star Compressed yeast) in ¼ cup warm water

Combine

1 cup hot scalded milk,

½ cup butter or oleo and ½ cups sugar in large mixing bowl

Cool to lukewarm

Stir In

2 beaten eggs, reserving 1 tbsl

2 tsp Vanilla,

1 tsp salt and the yeast

Add Gradually

4 to 4 ½ cups sifted Pillsbury’s best all purpose flour, beating well after each addition

Cover

Let rise in warm place until light and doubled in size about 1 hour

Beat down and let rise again until doubled in size about ¾ of an hour

Turn batter, dough into 2 well- greased 9x5x3 pan

Let rise in warm place until light ¾ of an hour

Brush with reserved egg

Bake in moderate over 350F for 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown

To store cover with Reynolds wrap
