Mint Sauce for Lamb




1/2 cup white vinegar

1/3 cup sugar

Fresh mint leaves



Heat vinegar and sugar in small saucepan, stirring until sugar is dissolved



With scissors, snip enough mint leaves coarsely to measure 1/2 cupful

Pour hot vinegar over mint in small bowl, let stand, covered, several hours

Before serving, strain sauce, discard mint

Snip more fresh mint leaves coarsely to measure 1/4 cupful

Add to sauce

Serve at room temperature, with roast lamb or lamb chops

Makes 2/3 cup
