Pork Cake

1 pound ground salt pork
2 cups boiling water
3 cups brown sugar
1 cup molasses
6 cups flour
1 tsp soda
2 tsp ground cloves
1 tsp grated nutmeg
2 cups currants
2 cups raisins

Mix the pork and boiling water, and let cook for 5 minutes, and then add the sugar and stir till creamy
Add the molasses
Mix and sift the dry ingredients and add the currants and raisins
Combine all the ingredients and mix carefully
Place in 2 loaf cake pans, which have been lined with waxed paper
Bake in a moderate oven 325-350F for about 1 to 1-1/2 hours
