Lord Baltimore Cake
1 pkg yellow cake mix
1 pkg white frosting mix
1/4 tsp lemon or orange extract
1/4 cup blanched chopped almonds
1/4 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup dry macaroon crumbs
12 candied cherries, chopped
Mix and bake cake as directed on package for a layer cake
Cool
Prepare frosting as directed on package, adding extract
Toast nuts and crumbs in moderate oven 350F for 5 minutes
Blend nuts, crumbs and cherries into 1 cup frosting, spread between layers
Frost top and side of cake with remaining frosting
Decorate side of cake with strips of candied cherries and nuts
