Tudor Roses




1/2 cup soft butter or margarine

1/2 cup unsifted confectioners sugar

3/4 cup sifted all purpose flour

1/4 tsp mace

1/2 tsp vanilla extract



Preheat oven to 350F

In small bowl with electric mixer at medium speed, cream butter until light and fluffy

Gradually beat in sugar



Sift together flour and mace; beat into butter mixture, along with vanilla

Onto ungreased cookie sheet, press dough through cookie press or pastry bag, using star tip

Place cookies 1 inch apart

Bake 15 minutes, or until a delicate golden brown

Cool on cookie sheet several minutes

Remove to wire rack cool

Makes about 3 dozen
