Chocolate Custard Pie


3 eggs, slightly beaten

1/2 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup sugar

2-3/4 cups milk

1 tsp vanilla

1-1/2 ounces squares chocolate

1 one pie shell



Combine eggs, salt, 1/2 cup sugar, 2-1/2 cups milk and vanilla

Pour in filling

Bake in very hot oven 450F 20 minutes

Reduce temperature to slow 325F and bake 15 minutes longer

While pie is baking melt chocolate over boiling water, blend in remaining sugar and milk and cook until smooth and well blended

Spread over top and bake 15 minutes longer until firm

Makes one 9 inch pie
