Brownie Pie




3 Egg Whites

Dash of Salt

1/4 tsp cream of tartar

3/4 cup granulated sugar

3/4 cup finely crushed chocolate wafer crumbs (14 wafers)

3/4 cup chopped walnuts

1/2 tsp vanilla

2 tbsp confectioner’s sugar

1 cup heavy cream, whipped, or vanilla ice cream



Beat egg whites until foamy and add salt and cream of tartar

Continue to beat until peaks form

Add sugar to whites, 2 tbsps at a time, and continue to beat until stiff and glossy

Fold in wafer crumbs and walnuts

Fold in vanilla

Butter a 10 inch glass pie pan and sprinkle with granulated sugar

Pour in the mixture and smooth the top

Bake about 45 minutes at 325

Let cool completely in oven

Spread with whipped cream sweetened with confectioner’s sugar and refrigerate until ready to serve

You may prefer to serve with scoops of vanilla ice cream instead
