Christmas Cactus

This cactus, which sends forth delicate red blossoms every year at Christmas time, is a glorious gift of nature.
It is a native of Brazil, where it grows on the branches and trunks of trees, similar to mistletoe.
It is not, however, a parasite, but digs its roots into the moss and derives its moisture from the rain.
