The Glastonbury Thorn

Joseph of Arimathea is said to have brought the Gospel to England around 70A.D. He built the first Christian church out of twigs at Glastonbury. When he put his staff into the ground on the top of Wyrralhill, it grew into this tree. Every year thereafter it would blossom of Christmas. Today, there are numerous ceremonies surrounding both the Glastonbury Thorn in it's original spot in England, as well as other Hawthorn trees in the vicinity.
