The Lovely Things Of Christmas
by Mrs Paul E. King
I Love the Sights of Christmas
Candles glowing through windows, sparkly-clean
Doorways Framed in Holly and Fragrant Evergreen,
A Yule-Log burning on an open Hearth,
Twinkly-bright stars shining over the Earth,
Brightly wrapped packages neath a lovely tree,
Children as good as children can be--
I Love the Sights of Christmas
I Love the Sounds of Christmas
Skaters skimming over Ice that's crystal clear,
Sweet carol voices on the still night air,
Footsteps squeaking on crunchy snow,
Joyous laughter where the children go,
Church Bells ringing from a steeple high,
Friendly greetings to each passerby,
The Jingling and Tinkling of bobsled bells
mingling gaily with the sledders' yells--
I Love the Sounds of Christmas
I Love the Story of Christmas
The angels' sweet message--let me hear it again--
Of Peace on Earth, Good Will toward all Men
How the shepherds made haste and, forsaking their sheep,
Found the lowly manger and the Baby, asleep.
Brave Wise Men traveled from the East afar
To worship the Babe, having followed the star,
Costly gifts at His feet they laid,
The King of all kings who was born that day.
