A Christmas Nose
by Virginia Brasier

You can Tell it's Christmas by Carols and Bells,
But Christmas also has Beautiful Smells
Ginger, Brown in the Cookie Pan,
sends out word of the Gingerbread man.
Cardamom, Nutmeg, Cloves and Mace
Waft in clouds all over the place.
There's sage for Dressing and Chestnuts Popping
And lovely Vanilla and Almond Topping
For little Cakes and, of course, Mince Pies
With Scents so strong it Waters the Eyes,
And wax on the floors and polish on handles
And Wintry Frangance of Bayberry Candles.
But the Very best Christmas Smell there'll be
Is the Mountain Green of the Christmas Tree.
