Onion Sauce




1 tbsp butter or margarine

2 tbsp sugar

1/2 cup thinly sliced onion

1 tbsp all purpose flour

1 cup canned beef bouillon, undiluted

1 tbsp red wine vinegar

1/2 tsp salt



In small, heavy saucepan over low heat, melt butter with sugar, stirring constantly until sugar turns golden about 5 minutes

Add onion cook 3 minutes longer

Remove from heat

Add flour, stirring until smooth

Gradually stir in bouillon, vinegar, and salt

Bring to boiling, stirring constantly

Reduce heat, simmer, covered, 10 minutes

Delicious with hamburgers or with cold, sliced roast beef

Makes about 1 cup
