| Onion Sauce 1 tbsp butter or margarine2 tbsp sugar1/2 cup thinly sliced onion1 tbsp all purpose flour1 cup canned beef bouillon, undiluted1 tbsp red wine vinegar1/2 tsp salt In small, heavy saucepan over low heat, melt butter with sugar, stirring constantly until sugar turns golden about 5 minutesAdd onion cook 3 minutes longerRemove from heatAdd flour, stirring until smoothGradually stir in bouillon, vinegar, and saltBring to boiling, stirring constantlyReduce heat, simmer, covered, 10 minutesDelicious with hamburgers or with cold, sliced roast beefMakes about 1 cup | |
