| Irish Cream Brownies 1-1/4 cups sugar3/4 cup margarine or butter1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder2 eggs1 tsp vanilla1-1/2 cups all purpose flour1 tsp baking powder1/4 tsp baking soda1 cup milk1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans1/4 cup Irish cream liqueur or crème de cacaoLiqueur Glaze Heat the sugar, margarine or butter, and cocoa powder in a large saucepan over medium heat till margarine melts, stirring constantlyRemove from the heatAdd the eggs and vanilla, beat lightly just till combined Combine flour, baking powder, and baking sodaAdd flour mixture and milk alternately to the chocolate mixture, beating by hand after each additionStir in nutsPour into a greased 15 x 10 x 1 inch baking pan Bake in a 350 oven for 15 to 20 minutes or till a toothpick inserted near the center comes out cleanPlace pan on a wire rackWhile brownies are still hot, use a pastry brush to brush liqueur evenly over top of browniesCool completelySpread with liqueur glazeMakes 36 Liqueur GlazeIn a mixing bowl combine 2-1/2 cups sifted powdered sugar, 2 tbsp cocoa powder, and 1/4 tsp vanillaStir in 1 tbsp Irish cream liqueur or crème de cacaoStir in 3 to 4 tbsp milk1 tsp at a time till of drizzling consistency. | |
