Blue Christmas

I'll have a Blue Christmas Without You;
I'll be so Blue thinking about You.
Decorations of Red on a Green Christmas Tree
Won't mean a thing, If You're not here with Me

I'll have a Blue Christmas, that's certain;
And when that Blue Heartache starts Hurting,
You'll be doing all right with your Christmas of White,
But I'll have a Blue, Blue Christmas.

B. Hayes, J. Johnson (c) 1948

Boar's Head Carol

The boar's head in hand bring I
Bedecked with bays and rosemary
And I pray you my masters Merry Be
Quot estis in convivio
(All who are feasting)
Caput apri defero
(The head I bring)
Reddens laudes Domino
(Giving praises to God)

The boar's head I understand
Is the rarest dish in all this land
Which thus bedecked with a garland gay
Let us servire cantico
(Let us serve with a song'.)

The Wild Boar, worshipped by the Druids in England and offered as a sacrifice to their goddess Frigga, symbolized the ploughing of the Fields because of its tusks, which it dug into the earth. Since the time of Henry VIII, Boars Head has been the "piece de resistance" at many an English Holiday Meal. Many traditions surround it. Guests at the dinner table sing when it is brought in. A popular song is the
"Boar's Head Carol"

C.H.R.I.S.T.M.A.S.

When I was but a youngster,
Christmas meant one thing,
That I'd be getting lots of toys that day.
I learned a whole lot different,
When my mother sat me down,
And taught me to spell Christmas this Way:
"C" is for the Christ Child, born upon this day,
"H" is for the Herald Angels in the Night,
"R" means our Redeemer,
"I" means Israel,
"S" is for the Star that Shone so Bright,
"T" is for Three Wise Men, they who traveled
Far,
"M" is for the Manger where he Lay,
"A" is for all He stands for,
"S" means Shepherds came,

And that's Why there's a Christmas Day,
And that's Why there's a Christmas Day.

Carol Of The Bells

Hark How the Bells,
Sweet Silver Bells,
All seem to Say,
Throw cares away

Christmas is Here,
Bringing Good Cheer,
To Young and Old,
Meek and the Bold,

Ding Dong Ding
That is their Song
With Joyful Ring
All Caroling

One seems to Hear
Words of Good Cheer
From Everywhere
Filling the Air

Oh how they Pound,
Raising the Sound
O'er Hill and Dale,
Telling their Tale,

Gaily they Ring
While People Sing
Songs of Good Cheer,
Christms is Here,
Merry, Merry, Merry, Merry Christmas,
Merry, Merry, Merry, Merry Christmas,
On on they Send,
On Without End,
Their Joyful Tone to Every Home
Dong Ding Dong Ding, Dong Bong

Carol of the Bells is an adaptation of an ancient Ukrainian folk song called a "schchedrivka".
An arrangement by Mykola Leontovych [1875-1921]
was popularized in the 1930's by Oleksander Koshyts [1875-1944], a Ukrainian choir director who worked in the US and Canada.
It has since become an American Christmas classic.

Charlie Brown Christmas

Christmas Time is Here,
Happiness and Cheer,
Fun for all that Children
Call their Favorite time of Year.

Snowflakes in the air,
Carols Everywhere,
Olden times and ancient rhymes
And Love and Dreams to Share.

Sleigh Bells in the air;
Beauty everywhere;
Yuletide by the Fireside
And Joyful Memories there.

Christmas Time is Here;
We'll be drawing near;
Oh that we could always see
Such Spirit through the Year,
Such Spirit through the Year.

Chipmunck Christmas

(all right you Chipmunks! Ready to sing your song?)
-I'll say we are!
-Yeah!
-Let's sing it now!
Okay, Simon?
-Okay!
Okay, Theodore?
-Okay
Okay, Alvin? Alvin? ALVIN? [OKAY!!!]

Christmas, Christmas time is near
Time for toys and time for cheer
We've been good, but we can't last
Hurry Christmas, Hurry fast
Want a plane that loops the loop
Me, I want a hula hoop
We can hardly stand the wait
Please Christmas, don't be late.
[Okay fellas get ready.]
That was very good, Simon.
-Naturally.
Very good Theodore.
-Ahhh.
Ah, Alvin, you were a little flat, watch it.
Ah, Alvin. Alvin. ALVIN!
-OKAY.

Want a plane that loops the loop
I still want a hula hoop
We can hardly stand the wait.
Please Christmas, don't be late.
We can hardly stand the wait
Please Christmas, don't be late.

(Very good, boys)
-Lets sing it again! Yeah, lets sing it again!
No, That's enough, lets not overdo it
-We want to sing it again!
Now wait a minute, boys
-Why can't we sing it again?
-[Chipmunk chatter]
Alvin, cut that out.. Theodore, just a minute.
Simon will you cut that out?
Boys!

Christmas For Cowboys

Tall in the Saddle we spend Christmas Day
Driving the Cattle on the Snow-Covered Plains.
All of the good gifts given today;
Ours is the sky and wide open range.

Back in the cities, they have different ways.
Football and Eggnog and Christmas Parades.
I'll take the blanket; I'll take the reins;
Christmas for Cowboys and wide open plains.

A campfire for warmth as we stop for the night;
The stars overhead are the Christmas-Tree Lights;
The wind sings a hymn as we bow down to pray'
Christmas for Cowboys and the wide open plains.

It's tall in the saddle we spend Christmas Day,
Driving the Cattle on the Snow-Covered plains.
So many gifts have been opened today;
Ours is the sky and the wide open range.
It's Christmas for Cowboys and wide open plains.

Christmas Day

A packful of toys means a sackful of Joys
For millions of girls and for millions of boys
When Christmas Day is here
The most Wonderful Day of the Year!

A jack in the box waits for children to shout,
"Wake up, don't you know that it's time to come out!"
When Christmas Day is here
The Most Wonderful Day of the Year!

Toys Galore
Scattered on the floor
There's no room for more
And its all because of Santa Claus!

A scooter for Jimmy, a dolly for Sue
The kind that will even say "How do you do."
When Christmas Day is here
The Most Wonderful Day of the Year.

CHRISTMAS DINNER

And it came to pass on a Christmas Evening
While all the doors were shuttered tight
Outside standing, lonely Boy-Child
Cold and shivering in the night

On the street, every window
Save but one, was gleaming bright
And to this window walked the Boy-Child
Peeking in saw, candle light

Through other windows he had looked at turkeys, ducks and geese, cherry pies
But through this window saw a grey-haired lady
Table bare and tears in her eyes

Into his coat reached the Boy-Child
Knowing well there was little there
He took from his pocket,
His own Christmas Dinner
A bit of cheese, some bread to share

His outstretched hands
held the food and they trembled
As the door, it opened wide
Said he, Would you share with me Christmas Dinner
Gently said she, Come inside.

The grey-haired lady brought forth to the table
Glasses two and her last drop of wine
Said she, Here's a toast to everyone's Christmas
And especially, Yours and Mine

And it came to pass on that Christmas Evening
While all the doors were shuttered tight
That in that town, the Happiest Christmas
Was shared by Candle Light

Christmas In Killarney

The Holly Green, the Ivy Green,
The prettiest picture you've ever seen
Is Christms in Killarney
With all of the folks at home

It's nice, you know, to kiss your beau
While cuddling under the Mistletoe
And Santa Claus you know, of course
Is one of the boys from home

The door is always open
The neighbors pay a call
And Father John before he's gone
Will Bless the house and all

How grand it feels to click your heels
And join in the fun of the Jigs and reels
I'm handing you no Blarney
The likes you've never known
Is Christmas in Killarney
With all of the folks at Home.

Christmas Island
Let's get away from Sleigh Bells, Let's get away from Snow,
Let's make a break some Christmas, Dear, I know a place to go.
How'd ja like to spend Christmas on Christmas Island?
How'd ja like to spend the Holiday away across the Sea?
How'd ja like to spend Christmas on Christmas Island?
How'd ja like to hang your stockin' on a great big Coconut Tree?

How'd ja like to stay up late like the Islanders do,
Wait for Santa to Sail in with your presents in a Canoe?
If you ever spend Christmas on Christmas Island,
You will never stray, for ev'ry Day
Your Christmas Dreams come True.

How'd ja like to stay up late like the Islanders do,
Wait for Santa to Sail in with your presents in a Canoe?
If you ever spend Christmas on Christmas Island,
You will never stray, for ev'ry Day
Your Christmas Dreams come True.

On Christmas Island, Your Christmas Dreams Come True.

Christmas Waltz

Frosted Window Panes
Candles gleaming inside
Painted Candy Canes on the Tree

Santa's on his way
He's filled his sleigh with things
Things for you and for me

It's the time of year
When the World Falls in Love
Every song you hear seems to say

Merry Christmas
May your New Year's dreams come true
And this song of mine in three quarter time
Wishes you and yours the same thing too!

Frosted window panes
(see them gleaming)
Candles gleaming inside
Painted Candy Canes on the Tree
Just look and you'll see

Santa's on his way
(That's why sleigh bells are ringing)
He's filled his sleigh
(And that's why we're all singing)
With things
Things for you and for me

It's that time of year
(Time for falling)
When the World falls in Love
(So in Love)
Every song you hear seems to say

Merry Christmas
May your New Year's dreams come true
And this song of mind in three quarter time
Wishes you and yours The Same Thing Too!

CHRISTMAS WITHOUT YOU

White Christmas and I'm blue
Like fireworks with no fuse
Christmas without you

The fireplace keeps burning and my thoughts keep turning
The pages of memories of time spent with you
Old Christmas songs we knew and used to make love to
Make it hard to get used to Christmas without you

Christmas without you
White Christmas and I'm blue
I Love You I Miss You
So sad but so true

Christmas without you
Like a mystery with no clues
Like fireworks with no fuse
Christmas without you

The sweetest gift I know would be if the new snow
Could fall on your footsteps on this Christmas Eve
The most Joyous Christmas if luck could be with us
Would be if Saint Nicholas brought you home to me
