Marachino Cherry Cake
Cream 1 cup butter with
2 cups sugar
Add 4 egg yolks beaten light
1 cup milk alternately with
3 cups flour, sifted 3 times with
1/2 tsp soda
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
Add small bottle cherries, juice and nuts
1 tsp vanilla
Add 4 egg whites beaten stiff.....Last
Bake at 350F in a tube pan for 1-1/4 hours
Maple Icing
1 tbsp hot coffee
3 tbsp maple syrup
Few drops of vanilla
Confectioner’s sugar
Mix together coffee, syrup and vanilla and beat in confectioner’s sugar until stiff enough to spread.
