Fudgy Liqueur Cups




3/4 cup all purpose flour

1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/3 cup margarine or butter, softened

1/3 cup sugar

1 (3oz) pkg cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup margarine or butter

1/2 cup sugar

1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 egg

2 tbsp Grand Marnier, Cointreau, or Cherry Liqueur

1 tsp vanilla

1/4 cup white baking pieces with cocoa butter, melted



For pastry

Stir together flour and the 1/4 cup cocoa powder

Set aside

In a small mixer bowl beat the 1/3 cup margarine or butter, the 1/3 cup sugar, and the cream cheese, till fluffy

Gradually add flour mixture, beating till combined

If necessary, cover and chill dough about 30 minutes or till easy to handle



Divide dough into 24 balls

Place each ball in a lightly greased 1-3/4 inch muffin cup

Press dough evenly against the bottom and sides of cup



Melt the 1/4 cup margarine or butter over low heat

Remove from heat

Stir in the 1/2 cup sugar 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, egg, liqueur, and vanilla

Spoon about 1 tbsp filling into each pastry-lined muffin cup



Bake at 325 for about 18 minutes or till filling is set

Cool 10 minutes in pans

Remove from pans, cool completely on wire racks

Drizzle with melted white baking pieces

Makes 24
