Malted Chocolate Drops

2/3c butter or margarine

3/4 c sugar

2 eggs

1 tsp vanilla

2 c sifted flour

2 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp salt

1/4 c cocoa

1 c chocolate-flavored instant malted milk powder

1/4 c water

1 c chopped walnuts

Beat butter and sugar together until light and fluffy

Beat in eggs and vanilla to mix well

Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, cocoa and malted milk powder

Add alternately with water to creamed mixture

Fold in nuts

Chill several hours

Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased baking sheet

Bake 350 for 12 minutes

Makes 4 dozen

If you want to frost these:

Chocolate Malt Frosting:

Melt 1 sq unsweetened chocolate and

1 tbsp butter over very low heat

Stirring constantly

Mix in 1 tbsp warm water

2 tbsp chocolate flavored instant malted milk powder

2 tbsp light cream or dairy half and half

And 1 c sifted confectioners sugar, or enough to make a frosting of spreading consistency
