Pineapple/Chocolate Chip Cookies

1/2 c butter

1/2 c shortening

1 c brown sugar, firmly packed

1 c white sugar

2 eggs

1 tsp vanilla

1 c crushed pineapple with juice

4 c sifted flour

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1 c chopped walnuts

1 (6oz) pkg semisweet chocolate pieces

Cream together butter, shortening and sugars until light and fluffy

Beat in eggs, one at a time, and vanilla

Stir in pineapple

Sift together flour, baking soda and salt

Divide in half

Add first half to creamed mixture

When well blended, add second half

Stir in nuts and chocolate pieces
