Sour Cream Chocolate Cookies

1/2 c butter

1 c brown sugar, firmly packed

1 egg

2 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted

1-1/2 c sifted flour

1/4 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp salt

1/4 tsp baking soda

1/2 c sour cream

1 c chopped walnuts

1 tsp vanilla

Cream together butter and brown sugar

Add egg and blend well

Beat in chocolate

Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and soda

Add to creamed mixture alternately with sour cream

Stir in nuts and vanilla

Drop by teaspoonfuls about 2" apart onto greased baking sheet

Bake in moderate 375F for 8 minutes

Makes 5 dozen
