6 in 1 Refrigerator Cookies

You can make 18 dozen cookies of six flavors from one batch of dough

2 c butter

1 c sugar

1 c light brown sugar, firmly packed

2 eggs, beaten

1 tsp vanilla

4 c flour

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 c shredded coconut

1/2 c finely chopped pecans

1/2 tsp ground nutmeg

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1 square unsweetened chocolate, melted

1/4 c finely chopped candied cherries

Cream butter; gradually add sugars, cream until light and fluffy

Add eggs and vanilla, mix well

Sift together flour, soda and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture, beating well after each addition

Divide dough in 6 parts

Add coconut to 1 part,

Pecans to 2nd part

Nutmeg and cinnamon to 3rd part,

Melted chocolate to 4th part, and

Candied cherries to 5th part

Leave the last portion plain

Chill 30 minutes, or longer

Shape dough into 6 rolls about 1-3/4" in diameter

Wrap tightly in plastic wrap or waxed paper and refrigerate overnight, or freeze

When ready to use, slice with sharp knife in 1/8" slices

(If frozen, thaw just enough to slice)

Place on lightly greased baking sheet

Bake in 375F oven for 10 to 12 minutes

Makes 18 dozen
