Butterscotch

2 cups brown sugar
1/4 cup butter
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup boiling water
1/4 cup sweet cream
1 tbsp corn syrup

Boil all ingredients together except the cream until it will form a ball a littler harder than fondant
Pour in cream and boil slowly for about 5 minutes
Pour in a well oiled pan
When nearly cold, cut in squares with a large butcher or meat knife
Very nice dipped in chocolate
