Mornay Sauce


With vegetables or eggs




1-2/3 cups milk

2-3 tbsp all purpose flour

2 tbsp butter or margarine

1/2 tsp salt

Dash pepper

1 cup shredded sharp cheese





In a heavy saucepan, combine milk and flour

Bring to a boil, stirring constantly

Cook for 3 to 5 minutes until thickened



Add butter and stir until melted

Season to taste with salt and pepper



Add cheese beat until cheese is melted

Do not boil or sauce may become rubbery
