Gingersnap-Raisin Sauce
For Baked Ham


6 small gingersnaps (1/3 cup crumbled)

1/2 cup brown sugar solidly packed

1/4 cup white vinegar

1 cup hot water

1/4 tsp salt

1 very small lemon or 1/2 large lemon or 1 very small orange cut into lengthwise pieces, then sliced crosswise into very thin slices

1/4 cup seedless raisins



Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and bring to boiling point

Lower heat and let simmer about 10 minutes

Or until thick and transparent

For additional flavor 1 or 2 tbsp curacao may be added to this sauce
