| Onion Bacon Bread 3/4 cup chopped onion1/2 cup diced uncooked bacon1 clove garlic, minced1/4 cup warm water1 package dry yeast4 to 4-1/2 cups flour, divided1 cup warm milk2 tablespoons sugar1/4 teaspoon salt Grease a 9 x 5 inch loaf pan Sauté bacon, onion and garlic until golden.Dissolve yeast in warm waterAdd 2 cups flour, milk, sugar and salt.Beat until well-blended.Stir in undrained onion -bacon mixture.Add enough additional flour to make soft dough.Knead well.Let rise in a warm place until doubled in bulk.Punch down, shape into a loaf.Place in prepared loaf panCover and let rise until doubled, about 1 hourPreheat oven to 375 degreesBake 45 minutes or until doneMakes one loaf | |
